Sr. Technical Producer

We are looking for a Senior Technical Producer to join our award-winning God of War team. In this role, you will function as part of the Santa Monica Studio internal technical leadership, collaborate with the Programming, Production and Management groups to create and execute project plans and support studio initiatives, partner in cross-team planning and ensure schedules, workflow dependencies, milestones and risks are effectively managed.

Additionally, you will support the development of Programming group short and long-term planning, organizational structures and best practices. This role requires strong technical management skills and extensive operational support experience. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to initiate and independently guide cross-functional groups to resolve complex issues to a common goal. Direct experience successfully supporting large multi-disciplinary teams in a fast paced, dynamic development environment is also highly valued.


  • Guide the Programming group and multi-disciplinary teams in the achievement of technical or non-technical project, product development & studio objectives:

    • Act as a communication hub between the programming group and other disciplines within the studio. This involves fostering an open, transparent development environment that keeps stakeholders informed through consistent and proactive collaboration & reporting

    • Collaborate with all levels of the Programming group, other departments and studio leadership to facilitate daily engineering activities. These include: plans, technical roadmaps, resource forecasts, cost/benefit analysis and operation infrastructure, guiding the resolution of complex problems and team dynamics as well as aligning complex multi-disciplinary schedules, milestone goals & project risks.

    • Partner with leadership to manage technical recruiting needs. This includes headcount planning, sourcing & recruiting candidates. Also oversee the integration of new hires into the Programming group.

    • Work closely with IT and studio operations to ensure development environments and game infrastructure are effectively meeting the needs of the Programming team

    • Coordinate Technical group needs & career development through knowledge shares, conferences, industry events, training and Studio/Corp support liaising

  • Support the execution of studio business goals through strategic thinking and planning:

    • Ensure Programming Group resources and Technical planning satisfy product vision, quality and studio short and long-term objectives. 

    • Anticipate and account for the impact of technical resources and plans on projects, long-term plans and other groups. Assist in identifying and collaboratively managing the needs of affected personnel and projects.

    • Consider projects within the context of a broader view of how business and technology will evolve over the short and long-term. 

    • Develop and maintain project management & operational best practices & processes.

    • Follow industry trends and technology developments as well as developments among competitors.


  • Minimum of 7 years game industry experience with at least 5 years’ experience in an internal development role.

  • Completed a full cycle on at least 2 published console games.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to disseminate complex information across technical and non-technical Product Development and Management staff.

  • Extensive experience with traditional production management and agile development techniques. Strong planning, organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Proven experience guiding cross-functional, creative teams in meeting quality and schedule goals.

  • Previous experience resolving complex issues and conflict. Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Knowledgeable of current industry trends. Is current on competitive products and best practices.

  • A passion for games and creating them.

  • Extensive experience working in a creative development environment.

  • An undergraduate college degree - or - equivalent skill set.
